A quick reminder to all business owners, HR professionals, payroll professionals and management staff, as we are fast approaching the end of year 2018 and very important implementations are coming for the new year. The new Florida Minimum Wage will increase and will be effective as of January 1, 2019, as announced by The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) back on October 15, 2018.  This means that employees who are not subject to tipped wages will need to receive a minimum wage of $8.46, which is a twenty-one ($0.21) cent increase over the current rate which was effective back on January 1, 2018.

A quick reminder to all employers who are required to keep the Log of Work-Related Injury and Illness, better known as OSHA Form 300. You must begin posting Form 300-A by February 1, 2018. The Form 300-A contains the annual summary of job-related injuries and illnesses for your workplace. It is required that you post the Form 300-A in a common visible area all the way through April 30, 2018. Your summary of injuries for 2017, should include the total number of job-related injuries and illnesses that occurred at your company.
